Still in Toronto for now, but I'm coming back tomorrow, guys.

Anyway,

when it comes to ratings for televised sporting events, certain teams are known to be capable of either generating great ratings or being ratings poison.

What are some teams that fall under either of those categories?

IMO, Michael Jordan's Bulls or Notre Dame football (when they were GOOD- think pre-Bob Davie) were ratings generators that could draw in tons of viewers, whereas Tim Duncan's Spurs are the closest thing to a ratings killer, the one team that can send viewers away in droves.

Feel free to come up with your thoughts on this; it can be any team in any of the major sports.

As for individuals Tiger is a ratings winner and everybody else in golf is a ratings killer. Michael Phelps is a ratings winner and most other Olympic athletes are ratings killers.

In baseball the Red Sox, Yankees and Cubs are ratings winners. The Marlins, D-Backs, Twins, and basically the rest of the league are ratings killers.

CFB: I think the Irish will always be rating generators - you tune in to either see them win, or see them lose.

MLB: the Red Sox, Yankees, and Cubs (who I personally watch to see lose) are rating generators.

NFL: the Cowboys (see Irish above) and the Patriots (these days) are rating generators.

NHL: Redwings always seem to draw interest.

NBA: I think the entire league is getting to be a ratings killer.

MICHIGAN is also a very large draw. Largest alumni base in the country, according to those who know about these things. (That wouldn't be me, I'm just repeating what I've read).

Mark Kotsay traded to Red Sox?

Phil Jackson says THE BEST athlete he ever coached IS......
