what size screen

I set about 9 to 11 feet from the tv what would be the ideal screen size lcd or rear projection tv be for my distance. I have a Mit. 46 in projection right now but it's not hdtv, so thinking of upgrading.was thinking maybe a 50", any comments would be helpful thanks Doug

My distance is same as yours. I did have a Sony 46" rear projection. Last year when trying to make the same decision you are. I decided in going to a 16 x 9 format I did not want to loose the height I was used to on the 46". So I ended up getting a 55" Mit. rear projection, it's a great set, glad I got it. Check it out. It may be a little wider that your 46 ".

I went with a Hitachi 57". I've had it just over 9 months and am very satisfied with the picture quality.

To go from 46" to 50" isn't a big enough jump to warrant cost in my book.

The only way I would consider 46 to 50 is if you didn't have room on each side for something bigger.
