What should be a quick splitter question.

Sorry, did search on splitter and a lot of confusing threads as a lot of them had non SWM questions as well. Setup is SWM and Multi-room. Moving 2 boxes from upstairs to basement (building rooms). When house was constructed, only one coax line ran to basement. From the SWM splitter to the run to the basement can I put a splitter with the correct frequency range down there then run to the 2 boxes? Hope that was a enough info.

Yes you can use a 2 way splitter to feed 2 boxes but since your setup is for SWM and Multi-Room you need one of the green labeled splitters. One of this will work:

How many receivers do you have? The max number of tuners for SWM is 8, so you can have 4 DVRs max or 2 DVRs and 4 HD/SD receivers.

Thanks for the info. I am aware of limitations. Because of that I have 2 DVRs and 4 HD boxes currently in use. I am moving 2 boxes from one location in the house to another location. I am not adding any more boxes.
