Hi guys. I just got Dish Network last week and was wondering what resolution I should set my 622 box at (it's my only hdtv). I have the Sony XBR970 CRT HDTV and it has a native resolution of 720p. With Time Warner it always looked better to set the box at 1080i. With the 622, the guy who set my tv up said I really need to set the box at its native resolution and not have it upscale. So, what do you guys do? Anyone who actually has the same tv that I do could really be a big help too.

They answer is whatever looks best. USUALLY its best to stick with the original source (720P for channels like ESPN, most ABC, and change to 1080i for the rest). But this is not always the best.

There has been mention, but no movement to support for this from Dish.

But some TV's look better when the source is presented to them in 1080i, even when they are actually 720p AND the source is 720p.

Experiment and see what looks best for your set using SD (480i), 720P and 1080i channels.

That's the case with both my TVs, they look better at 1080i and they're both 720p.
