.... With FTA is there any need for CP? I am trying to decide between the nvacom QPH-031 Circular and Linear Quad Polar LNB, and the SNH-03 LNB.

No NEED!

There are "IN the CLEAR" CP channels popping up now and then, Nasa and what made my mind up to get the QPH-031 was GOL TV.

Who knows what will pop up tomorrow and its nice to be future proofed! With the CP side you can FORGET about rain fade being a 0.3dB LNBF : )

Another plus about the LNBF is the Linear side is a Standard with a L.O. of 10750, takes less time to blind scan than a Universal. And many receivers now default to this L.O. (10750)

unless you want the audio from Dish (sans Sirius) and the 30 Canadian radio stations, the CP is not needed
