what is the best mobo / cpu combo

Im looking for a mobo that can do SLI that gives the best bang for the buck but is stable. What I want is something that is more intel ish.. Does SLI, and can be a work horse. 600 is my limit for the CPU and mobo combo. Combined. So whats the best I can get for that amount.

SLI you will have to go with NVIDIA chipsets. Intel ones only do crossfire.

I really like the quad core 2 Intel line. I believe the 680i is the top chipset from nvidia, but they are coming out with a 780i soonish.
