What is JTAG on the 6000 receiver?

Im selling my 6000 on ebay and I keep getting asked if it has JTAG. I know where to look for it now but have no idea what it is for. Any thoughts? By the way my 6000 is curintly going for $590.00!!!!!! :shocked
