Greetings,

When selling a receiver, how much information should I supply?
Is posting the serial number and card ID a bad idea or is this the information that the buyer needs to make a decision?
I thought I remember something about unscrupulous buyers using the ID number to make “fake” cards?
My dad bought a Panasonic TV that came with an HD Direct receiver that he never used since he has cable and lives in an assisted living facility which wouldn’t be able to accommodate a dish.
If it has value I will sell it, but don’t want to enable something illegal.

TIA
bruce

For nearly two years virtually all of the Directv branded boxes have been leased, not sold. Before you try to sell it, make sure you own it. Contact Directv and ask them if your dad owns it or not.
