What has happened to HBO!?

There is a new one that looks interesting on September 7 (see thread in this Forum).

But you are right, they are certainly at low ebb.

Supposedly there is a new David Milch show - somewhat more conventional than the last one - but I am not sure when it debuts.

Given the lack of compelling TV on HBO, I was shocked that they let Inside the NFL go..... Which Showtime immediately snapped up.....

Weeds, Call Girl, Californication, Dexter, Inside the NFL, The L Word, Penn & Teller: BS.... Killer lineup....

Meanwhile, the only thing on HBO of note was Generation Kill, which is now over too....

I have had HBO in the house for over 15 years. If things don't turn around I will be dumping them when I make the jump to an HD receiver w/ Dish after the first of the year. Used to watch HBO multiple time a week, now it is doing good to get 1 or 2 viewings a month.

The only reason I still have Hbo is for Bill Maher show . When he goes into hiatus so does HBO. But the way I have to pay for dvr fees on three dvrs, it isn't worth it to cut them off unless I cut out all premiums and drop down to just top 200 or top 250. BUt I agree there isn't much on HBO. But while we are discussing Premiums , SHOWTIME doesn't have much of anything to watch in the way of good movies. They do have some origional series tv shows . SO it looks like HBO has relevant movies but no real origional series tv now and SHowtime has the opposite.
