Got home this evening, and my Hopper wouldn't turn on. It showed a red recording light, but wouldn't turn on by remote or the front panel power button. After forcing a reboot with the red button, I looked to see if I could find out how long the box was locked up. Recordings at 6am and 7am looked fine, but then a couple recordings at 8am and 8:30am said "Stopped by STB Reboot". What the heck does that mean?? I'm still on S213, btw. So this WASN'T a software update.

I'm starting to get really peeved at the instability of this box. And my wife's level of impatience with it is off the charts.

EDIT: correction, it said "Stopped by STB Reboot".

"Stopped by STB Reboot" means that the receiver had no power, or was in a reboot process when there was supposed to be something recording. As to why this happened, I could not say. Have you had problems like this before?

My 722 and 722K have both, on occasion, rebooted DURING recordings. In some cases I have witnessed it happening and on others I have a single recording broken into 2 with a loss of the time of reboot. It doesn't happen a lot, but clearly something has hiccuped on the DVR and it reboots. At least the Hopper tells you directly what happened.

So, does this mean that the Hopper won't immediately return to recording the show after reboot like other Dish DVR's? That would STINK as I would only lose a few minutes of the program and not the remaining that could be 45 minutes of material lost.
