We have a vacation home and rather than setting up a separate account or stacking...I'd like to just carry my 622 back and forth as needed (and as many appear to have done).

I don't know a ton about sat. equipment, but I'm a pretty handy guy, so I was thinking I could just buy the necessary dishes, mounts, etc and install myself, but I'm not completely sure what I need. I have two Dish 500s at my primary residence with the 622 and a SD DVR connected to them.

Can someone assist me with a parts list to run my 622? Also, the vacation home had DirectTV installed and everything is still there (and it all looks pretty new)...so if I can reuse any of the mounts or cable, that would be cool.

Thanks.

Call Dish or chat online with a csr at DISH Network - 1.888.825.2557 and request info on the Dish snowbird policy. If you have HD tv at the vacation home, you will either need a triple lnb dish, I think it is a 1000.2 or a dish 500 for 110/119 and a single dish for 61.5, depending on your location. Dish may do this for free. As far as the direct mounts and cable, they are interchangeable. Hope this helps.

Great. Thanks. I chatted with DISH and they said they would make a notation on my account and that's all I needed to do at this time.

The downside is I still need to figure out the dish configuration. Can someone point me in the right direction to determine which configuration I need for my area. At my primary home I have Top 250, HD Gold/Platinum and locals (The vacation home is about 100 miles away...so I'm not sure if locals work or not...but it would be nice).

Sorry, I had to do some research. Based on your location, either setup that I mentioned earlier will work if you will have an hd set at the vacation home. If you will not have hd there, then all you need will be a dish 500. Your locals will depend on the zip + 4 code of your vacation home. I suggest you email tech@echostar.com, give them the exact location of your vacation home and they can tell you exactly what you need. Be sure and mention that you are a snowbird.

If you have DHPP E* will do the install free as a Dishmover. Otherwise I think it may be $99. For your location you could use a 1000.2, 1000.4, or a 2 Dish 500 setup. You won't need any switches and can use the cable to feed one tuner. If you are taking both receivers you'll need a second line from the dish to the second receiver.
