what current saftware for a 2700/2800/3700

have a friend he had a dish 300 for years i recently upgraded him to a dish 500 using a dish legancy quad only lnb would work on it anyways it needs the current software for it does anyone know what it is? can u force it to take new software? any help is welcome thks

When locked on 119/110 shut off power with in a half hour it should do any available updates.

Current software is 8.86P

Verify signal is locked on 119, make sure that without my permission is checked under the system upgrades menu, and then turn it off and it will take the download. It may take 15-30 mins as the previous poster stated.
