was reading the what can you get sticky and a few channels caught my attention. can anyone tell me a little bit about them, like what's on.

H-12011 1261 3/4 02.222 4130 4131 PRISON TV NETWORK

V-12120 1370 3/4 30.000 0033 0034 LAWYER'S TV

also, would i be able to pick up Armed Forces Network (AFN) feeds or are they scrambled.

Armed Forces was on C band 15 to 18 years ago, scrambled, then disappeared. The reason for the scramble was for "national security reasons."
Never could figure out why network programs and sporting events were a threat to national security, but to answer your question, yes, it's scrambled. :no On the occasions that I have watched Prison TV its been religious programing, all I ever got for Lawyer TV was a test pattern or as it's called these days, color bars.

the reason it might be scrambled is because they do local stories for the area they are in. when i was in japan, afn pacific came on the boats to film. they also show the bases etc.

When I was in Greenland in 1971-72 there was no such animal as "live" AFTV. TV was on only a few hours a day and was reruns. The sports were delayed, we watched the Indianapolis 500 around July 4th. Now they have satellite feeds beamed up to them just like we have, so everything is live. My wife was an USAF brat and she said it was the same way in Germany. She still laughs about seeing Bonanza overdubbed in German.

Prison TV

while this link http://www.worldteleport.org/Uplink/Winter04/BusDev2.html says they air
educational programs provided for inmates to receive their high school equivalency diplomas, learn a trade, and take college-level courses.

this link in the christian post mentions owner and their location of clearwater florida

Lawyers TV
this link states they ceased operation in OCT 2002

no way to test this myself yet

The Armed Forces Network is also scrambled as they broadcast a lot of Pay Per View events to the troops such as WWE Wrestling PPV's, Boxing PPV's and other pay type events.

thanks for everyones feedback. i am closer and closer into talking myself into getting the fta system on psb's webstie for it think 255. i am trying to hold off on new things because we might be moving later this year. i might do a sight survey where i live now to make sure i can get what i want.

Prison TV Network existed for several months, but the money ran out. They are trying to get additional backing to go back on the air. PTV probably had one of the best mixes of entertainment and news of any FTA channel. I recently heard that they might resurface in a bouquet on a MCPC.
