WGN throwback broadcast 60 years Cubs vs. Braves

WGN is doing something cool today - a throwback broadcast celebrating the 60 year anniversary of their first Cubs telecast.

The first innings are in B/W. I'm curious if it is in B/W HD???? I have DirecTV, so you tell me.

Very cool broadcast so far - something neat to check out.
Throwback uniforms, pregame stuff about WWII, using old on-screen graphics, pretty neat

They've got their PA announcer sitting right behind home plate in the crowd - never knew they did that in the past.

Masterdeals, It was in HD. It was also the first HD telecast in B and W so WGN made a bit of history today. I watched via sling, but it was cool to see.

It was cool for about 5 minutes, but not for two innings.
I switched over to the Braves broadcast.

I like being able to see balls and strikes.

There have been several B&W movies on HDNet et al, so this is not the first B&W HD broadcast. Could be the oldest source material so far though, who knows.
