Weird audio issue

Recently repainted and changed an accent wall in my living room. Speakers and TV are wall mounted and all wiring is in-wall. I installed everything about 5 years ago give or take. Yamaha RX-V673 amplifier and KEF 5.1 surround. Never had any problems.

After I reconnected everything, I'm not getting any sound for about 5 minutes. Essentially it seems like the amp has to "warm up". Starts with no audio, then after a couple minutes it starts to pop and I get intermittent sound with drop outs, and then everything works fine a couple minutes after that. What's odd also is that I used the front surround and center channel on the speaker stands while I had the room torn apart, with no issues, and then reinstalled and this started.

Open to suggestions here. Not life or death but it's annoying.

Maybe a wire in the wall was damaged and the amplifier’s safety circuitry is protecting the amp. How easy is it to put an ohmmeter on each speaker wire to check for shorts?

So just to update, it's not the speakers or the wiring. The amplifier is on the way out. Seems as though it's losing the ability to determine which audio format is coming from the source and properly decode it.

Maybe Super Bowl specials apply to HT AVRs as well? Hmmm, maybe not. I used to have a Yamaha in my Home Theater, upgraded a few years back to a Denon AVR-X3400H. Of course, now there's HDCP 2.3 and HDMI 2.2 features, but isn't there always some shiny new thing this year or the next?

Out of curiosity, I looked at the Yamaha AVR lineup. I'd need to see one in person to see if the GUI is lightyears beyond the B/W Atari graphics from my Yamaha. I'm not a fan of the Big Black Box with a Big Black Knob front and center with the little screen for Input and Audio Modes, but the RX-A2A looks pretty good for just under $900.
