This weekends project?
Redo the wiring so that each room's Gbit switch connects directly to the new 24-port Gbit backbone switch. As it is now, I have a mish mash with various pieces connecting in various places and this is meant to collapse some of it down. I will also be attaching the router and the NAS directly to the backbone switch instead of off of spurs. While I won't see any gains with the router (it is limited to 30Mbits/second) I could on the NAS device.
12 runs of Cat6 from the front of the theater (where the home run is) through the preinstalled conduit to the equipment closet. This will connect every possible jack in the house to the backbone. Each will be labeled and each jack throughout the house will be labeled.
All the networked gear in the closet (router moves Saturday, NAS, Dune player, GTV, Joey, AV Processor) will go directly into the backbone as well.
Next weekend it will be Wire Mania II where I completely rewire the equipment rack to make it much neater.
