International Launch Services (ILS) said the window for its May 21 launch of the DirecTV 8 satellite from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan will open at 1:59 p.m. EDT. The satellite will be delivered to orbit on a Proton M/Breeze M rocket.

Looks like they ran into some technical problems, the launch clock has been delayed another 24hrs. Its know counting down from around 40 hrs from the origninal 19 hrs a few minutes ago!!!.

May 21, 2005. Proton-DIRECTV 8 Launch has been postponed 1 day due to a technical issue on the launch vehicle. The Launch is tentatively rescheduled for Sunday, May 22nd at 1:59pm EDT
