Washburn, Ibanez claimed

Oh, please, can the Mets make a run at these two. I mean we still need a left fielder and are pitching isn't that great. Do you think it's worth a shot?

Washburn has been a "wash" since leaving the Angels. Ibanez is just an out and out stud and deserves to be on a contending team after years with the Royals and the Mariners.

Mets,
the only thing is, both these players would have to clear every team in the AL before the Mets could put in a claim.

MLB Trade Rumors said these are the teams in order to claim them. Yankees said it is not them; has to be the Devil Rays with their recent injuries:

1. Tigers
2. Rangers
3. Blue Jays
4. Yankees
5. Twins
6. White Sox
7. Red Sox
8. Rays
9. Angels

Maybe Ibanez might have been claimed by the Twins?

Why are the tigers in there? They should make up their mind, are they in or out?
BTW, I didn't know that Washburn hasn't been good. I know he's had a bad year but I didn't know he was a Wash as KCKHalo said. I just figured anything is better than what the Mets have now.

Tigers put up the White Flag when they traded Pudge, they should not be in any talks for anyone at this point unless it's about getting rid of players.

Jimbo

Rumors today say these guys were claimed by the Tigers and Twins, don't know which is which, though. The Waiver wire is a better kept secret than most Fed. Gov. files.

When I saw Ibanez play last night here in Anaheim I thought the deal was just hot air. Why would a team risk a player of that stature being injured?

10:54am: The Twins didn't win the claim on Ibanez, according to Joe Christensen. Ibanez doesn't expect a trade, though the Mariners have not discussed an extension with him.

THURSDAY, 9:57am: Geoff Baker confirms both players have been informed they've been placed on waivers. He sees the Jays, Red Sox, and Rays as possible AL claimants for Ibanez. Buster Olney considers the Twins a possibility as well. There seems little chance Ibanez would slip to the NL. Baker and Olney also heard an unconfirmed rumor that the Cardinals claimed Washburn.

Dunn traded to Diamondbacks

The guy eats 12,000 calories a day????!!!
