Hi, Just got dish a few days ago so Im a newbie at this so be gentle :)

, From what I see i have dish 500 with Lnb DPPlus Ak72-bte.
And so far the two receivers I have are

625 and 322

I just got another 322 bought off ebay and was wondering what is needed to set the 3rd receiver up. Switch ect. Thank you adhead of time

Easiest setup would be a DP Twin (NOT a Plus!!) or two DP Duals coupled with a DPP33 switch. That will allow you to run six tuners like your setup with no problems.

yep, that, or a 1000.2 dish and lnb, which has 3 outputs.
dish will also do it for you, i think the charge would be 99$ for a so-called 'existing customer install'
weigh the price options and decide whats best. also, make sure before you spend any money that the 322 you bought is legit and CAN be activated on your account.

I checked its a DPP twin that i have, is there a huge difference between the dpp33 and dpp44 switch? and if possible can i get away with a dpp33, without getting and new lnbs? or can i just get a Quad lnb and woudl that be a easy fix

you can use a dp33 with the dpp twin that you already have. again make sure the 322 receiver you purchased online is legit. you can call dish for that and ask

Every "Dish Pro Plus" (DPP) LNBF has a built in switch. DPP LNBFs are the only internal switching LNBFs

The Rule is that you can not "Switch a Switch"

So what you need to do is remove your current LNBF and replace it with 2 Dish Pro Duals.. you can re-use the Y-Bracket.

You will then need to run your lines from the LNBFs to a DPP 33 switch and from there to your STBs.

Good Luck

So, is also a option to just get a 1000.2 and lnb setup a possiblity, i was checking around, looks like i may be able to get one off ebay cheaper than getting the ppp33 switch and new lnb's ? LIke i said from the beginning i want to have 3 dual receivers hooked to this (322,322,625).

Yes, a 1000.2 dish and LNB is the same thing as a DPP33, only with no external switches needed. It has 3 output for up to 6 tuners and you can even add a fourth orbital location if you need in the future! Basically a direct swap of your 500 dish and it just aims a touch to the west of your 500 dish. You'd also be picking up the 129 with a 1000.2 dish so you'd be set if you want to go HD as well. If replacing your dish doesn't bother you, I'd definitely go for the 1000.2.

The odd thing was when i first ordered dish i did take a HD package then called up and cancelled, they were going to give me a 500 and wing guard or whatever its called, and i said i didnt want two dishes, i wonder why they didnt offer the 1000 to me at the time, and that was just two weeks ago

because your hd locals are probably on 61.5, so a 1000.2 would give you hi-def minus hd locals. to avoid a service call in the furture when you wanted locals in hi def they did not offer 1000.2 to you as an option.
although they could have offered and installed a 1000.4 which does have 61.5 and also 3 outputs with integrated switch. i wouldnt suggest puuting that one up yourself though, its much more difficult than a 1000.2
the 1000.2 is pretty easy to swap with a 500.

thanks, i was able to grab a new 1000.2 on ebay 69.99 out the door!! looks like the dude has one left if anyone else is interested.
