Rather than try my chances with the Dish Customer Service roulette …I thought I would try here… I currently have a Dish 500 (110* and 119*) connected to a DPP44 feeding a 625DVR (single mode) and 3 – 301 receivers. Everything is leased through Dish and my contract is up next month. I was looking at upgrading to HD. Originally I was going to get a wing Dish pointing at 61.5 for HD as I am almost sure I could not get 129 due to trees and do local HD channels OTA. Recently Dish uplinked most of my local HD channels (Cincinnati Ohio) to 77* so my HD solution may need to be changed if I decide I want HD locals from Dish. I think converting to Eastern ARC may be my best solution. I read that Eastern arc only supports MPEG4 receivers so I am not sure which one if my receivers would need to be replaced. If I did upgrade to HD, the 625dvr would be the one to be upgraded to a 722HD DVR and the 3 rooms with 301 would remain SD. So…my issues….what equipment would need to be replaced? Would Dish upgrade me to Eastern Arc (read something about this was only for new customers) without a fight?...How much do you think would be covered through the DishnItUp program…?? I doubt all my questions can be answered 100% but thought I would try to get clarity on some (if not all) of my upgrade scenario so I would know what to expect from Dish…
