Hi all. I have a single receiver installation (501) with a Dish 500 dual LNB antenna. I want to add to two more receivers (one of which will connect to a Windows XP Media Center PC), but I am wondering what I have to do for wiring.

I am sure this has already been explained in detail somewhere, but I am having a hard time sorting through and finding the right info.

Any pointers would be appreciated!

Thanks!

First please do a switch test menu 6,1,1 and tell us what you actually have for electronics. Legacy dual, Twin Dish Pro Twin etc.

That means you can hook up ONE more tuner without changing out equipment.

If you really need to go to three, you have a few options:
  • Add a DP34
  • Replace the DP-Twin with a DPPlus-Twin and get a dual-tuner receiver

Isn't "500 Twin" the legacy version? There is no way to feed 3 tuners from that.

I would consider Simon's 2nd option - the DP Plus Twin and a dual-tuner multi-room receiver. That will save the extra receiver fee if you have a phone line connected.

Another option is to replace the Twin with a Quad or DP Quad which would allow you to have up to 4 single-tuner receivers.

Like boba said just get you a quad for the 500. Easiest route to go.
