VOOM’S RAVE HD TO PREMIERE “BILLY IDOL: LIVE” ON MARCH 30th at 9 p.m. ET
TWO-HOUR SPECIAL CONCERT RECORDED LIVE AT CHICAGO’S CONGRESS THEATER
Adding yet another exclusive concert to its already impressive catalogue of groundbreaking programming, VOOM HD Network’s Rave HD—the first and only 24/7 high definition music channel—will present the world television premiere of “Billy Idol: Live,” a two-hour special event. On March 30 at 9 P.M. ET, catch Idol’s performance, recorded live at the Congress Theatre in Chicago on July 28, 2006.
“Billy Idol: Live” presents the electric and unforgettable Chicago performance, which was part of last year’s tour in support of Idol’s 2005 release Devil’s Playground—his first studio release in 12 years. Idol performs songs from his iconic career, including songs from his latest album, as well as classics like “Eyes Without a Face,” “White Wedding” and “Dancing with Myself.”
Following his stint with punk outfit Generation X in the late-1970’s, Billy Idol achieved massive success as a solo artist in the early 1980’s. Pairing with Steve Stevens to release his self-titled solo debut in July 1982, Idol quickly rose to superstardom and became a staple on then-fledgling MTV with eye-catching videos for “White Wedding” and “Dancing with Myself.” The success Idol enjoyed with his debut set the stage for the critically acclaimed 1984 release, Rebel Yell, which became the best-selling album of Idol’s career. Idol’s latest album, Devil’s Playground, is out now on Sanctuary Records. Idol also recorded a Christmas album, Happy Holidays: A Very Special Christmas Album, released in October 2006 on Edel Germany.
Rave HD’s other recent world television premiere concerts have included Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Depeche Mode and Queen fronted by Paul Rodgers.
