So, it sounds like the collective logic amongst the group is that I should
go ahead and switch to DISH now in hopes that the VOOM programming will
continue there. As a benefit of changing now, I will have priority in their
queue, as an existing customer, for the new MPEG4 equipment when it begins
to be made available later in the year (or at least we hope).
I guess the only fear is that they won't provide some sort of free upgrade
path for their existing customers. If that were to happen then I'd have to
invest in their current equipment now and then re-invest in the upgrade
equipment when they convert to MPEG4. However, based on the collective
confidence the group has in the customer service orientation of DISH, I'll
take the chance.
Thanks to all for the sage advice.
