Hi, Steve,

Yes, a number of posters over on satguys have reported problems with
lockups since the new encoders were installed and since their
SuperDMAs have been set up. However, we've only had 1 lockup in the
past month and a half where we had gotten them about every other day
for a couple of months.

I assume Wilt will read your post and add it to his list of things to
be done to make VOOM as close to "perfect" as possible.

Still enjoying HDTV under worryingly dry (we're watering the yard
already!) Seattle skies, Gill

I too am in the Dallas Area, seems to be working fine here with one lockup per month max. All I do is unplug the box and wait 15 seconds or so, plug it back in and go to bed for the night. Next day everything is fine. From time to time, the OTA channels don't work, but I did not buy a satellite for the local channels.

I also am getting lockups at least once a day. I just hold the power button in for ten seconds until the box resets. This is instead of unplugging the unit but it works the same way. You have to wait about five minutes for the box to download the guide.

Jeff-
Are you in the Dallas area as well?
Is there anyone getting frequent lockups (daily) not in the Dallas
area?

I live in the Dallas area and yesterday was the first lockup free day in about 5 days. And in case you do not get negative logic...I had no lockups on any 3 of my boxes yesterday.

Yeah, I am in Plano. I have also noticed that the picture quality has dropped off. I used to see Equator unbelievably sharp. Not so now.
