[VOOM] Box crashing

Wondering if anyone else is seeing this - I've been having crashes
about one a day lately where the box gets into this mode where the
display sticks on the current channel. The guide will move with the
channel button, or entering a channel number directly, but the actual
channel displayed just stays the same no matter what. Unit won't
respond to remote power, nor will the physical power button turn it
off. Seems like its been happening for about a week or so. Before
this, its been maybe 1 crash every 3-4 weeks.

Yes, this is a common bug with the new 7.26 software. Many people
have experienced this. What you need to do is disconnect your
telephone line from the box and do a hard reboot. (Plug the plug
out and plug it back in). That is the temporary fix. The lockups
are being caused by the Caller ID function. Even if you disable the
caller ID function you may get this if you phone line is still
plugged into the box.

I agree it is very annoying. This caller ID problem needs to be
addressed in a software fix. I love the Caller ID function, but it
does more harm than good.

RE: [VOOM] Box crashing

I have had the problem every since the last software download. No
problems before that. I talked with a CSR last night that was aware of
the problem but the only solution offered was to send a "hit" to my box.
It is interesting that it seems to have only affected my stb connected
to my HDTV and not my analog set.but it happens at least once every day.
I hope they get it fixed soon. I can deal with the reboots but it is
really frustrating my wife who is not into HD and still can not
understand why we switched to Voom from DirecTV. We are paying more and
have more hassells, but to me the extra HD is worth it. I hope I can
stave her off until the bug gets fixed.
