We just had Voom hooked up last week.(love It!!) The installer put
the OTA antenna on the peak of my roof. My house is 1 story and I
can't get any OTA channels. My son who puts siding on houses is
taking down an antenna tower next week, he said I could have it. My
question is can my husband take the OTA antenna down from where the
installer placed it and move it to the tower? Thanks, a very happy
voom customer.

Yes, you own the ota antenna so you can do whatever you want with it. I'd be
more concerned why you don't get any local stations at all. What did the
installer say about why nothing came in? Did he go to the installer menu in
Voom and "scan ota channels" ??

I'm not in front of my system right now (I'm at work) but to find out what
kind of signal you're getting, press your voom button, then the green
button, then select installer menu and you should be able to take it from
there to find your signal strength and see if he went thru the 7 steps. If
he didn't do an ota scan, do that yourself and see what comes up.

If your signal strength is zero, then he didn't connect the ota antenna to
the system.

what is known about Voom being acquired by Echo star
and if there is anything to this story. It sounds
reasonable to me but I want to know if it has any real
substance to it as direct has a very clear plan to
deal with HD as the main and only service it offers by
the end of 2005.

[VOOM] Re: OTA antenna question

I tried what you said I am now getting one channel. The installer
said there was to many trees around the neighborhood. But several
neighbors that have towers pick up several OTA channels. Thanks for
the input. I'll have my husband move the antenna to the tower when
its put up.
