[VOOM] Lack of variety....

There's a real lack of programming on the Voom cinema and monsters
channels. I've been a subscriber for some 6 months now, and I haven't
seen a great rotation with enough new stuff to warrant keeping Voom.

Voom is a great idea, but, at the end of this billing cycle, I'm off.

Good luck to Voom... I hope they can rapidly increase from the 25,000
subscribers they have now in to the millions they need to survive...

Dave

I disagree with you on the Lack of Variety.

If you check this thread:

http://www.satelliteguys.us/showthread.php?t=12793

You will see that the HD Cinema channels + Monsters-HD has been averaging 60 new movies per month! Yes, these movies are not the ones from last year but the Variety is there. Also on the same thread you will all the new content that each of the channels have been doing. This is not the total list since there are programming which often premieres without description.

The daily rotation is slow 2 movies per day per cinema 10 channel, as for the other exclusives like WOrldSport, Rush/RAve, Animania, they get content all the time as well, some live soccer games coming to WorldSport like in 3 days. At least Voom offers 20 HD channel options, quitting and going with less HD makes no sense to me...

I agree, the variety is much better. I'm a B movie nut so you cant go
by me.
It may not be the variety people are looking for so they dont
acknowledge it.

My point is if you drop VOom and go to cable /D*/E* you don't have a Rush HD option, they don't even show that stuff in HD, nor an Animania option, nor a music only HD channel, or a international sports only channel, what I am getting at is that while Rainbow is just starting out and their subs are small they can only do so much, BUT, if they accomplish what they are setting out to do, they could have the budget in the future to expand their lineups, and possible move their channels AMC/IFC/WE into the HD realm as well.

Remember their exclusives are also commercial free (which Voom should consider changing and offer HD commercials spots between movies and events to help their budget, but never interrupt the content).

Yeah - its a hoot IMO. If you want the latest stuff, then you have to
fork-over for the va-va-voom HBO, Cinemax, yada-yada lineup. The stuff
that's showing in Cinema HD is not bad IMO for basic tier stuff.

My only complaint is that whoever is generating the content is totally
borking the ORIGINAL ASPECT RATIO, as we mentioned before. Maybe I'm
just weird, but if I'm going to spend the time to watch a movie, I want
to see the whole dang frame. I don't care if its the greatest epic
ever, or just Godzilla stomping Tokyo.
