[VOOM] Good luck, Voom

My VoOm was removed today, at my request. I cancelled my account.
I wish VoOm luck, and success, but I just wasn't using it enough to
justify the expense. My brother is deaf, and the VoOm channels were
not closed captioned, nor are any non-network non-OTA channels.

I just wasn't using VoOm. But I hope VoOm succeeds--competition is
always good. But for me this was a necessary business decision.

I dropped it the other day too...

I also found I was never really watching it. My locals just didn't come in,
and I never realized how much I watched them, but, surprise, surprise!!!

Also - by dropping, I save $52.90, and here's the deal I got from my cable
company (I know there's only a fraction of the HD content, but I still found
it too tempting a deal):

All the HBOs, with 2 HD HBOs, and HBO on demand
All the SHOs, with 2 HD SHOs, and SHO on demand
All the TMCs (No HD TMCs available)
Local HD CBS, ABC, FOX, and UPN (our local ABC is still not HD - doh!)
TNT HD
Disc HT HD
INHD
INHD2
HDNet
ESPN HD
AND... a HD DVR, which I played around with extensively today, and just
couldn't believe the clarity of a HD program played back. It was great!

All for just under $35 mo (extra to my present cable bill).

I'm happy. My wife's happy. And I'm still rooting for Voom, but
unfortunately cannot afford to pay from the sidelines waiting for DVR and
reliable locals availability... Good luck to you all, and to Voom - I hope
to have great reason to sign back up again one day!

[VOOM] Re: Good luck, Voom

I had dish and I droped them, I had every chanel they offered and I found my self and my
wife watching Scifi and USA and stuff like that, my kids watched Disney, Nick, Cartoon
network, and Boomerang. We have them with Voom and we have much more as far as HD.
We love the 21 orig HD chanels and we are going to stick with them. My kids love Anima
and Monsters as do I and my wife. I hope that you find whay you are looking for with
cable, good luck.
