Would a virtual Joey work on a network other than the home network that the hopper is connected to? Feature would be handy when traveling and staying in hotels. I figured unlikely hut thought someone here would know the answer.

Thanks,
Mike

No.

Not even if you brought the WAP.

Download to a tablet or try Dish Anywhere.

Hi All, So I am trying to connect my PS3 as a virtual Joey, I downloaded the app and still is asking me to call the Customer Service # (and I know what that means).

So for sure they say they charge as another Joey 7.99 a month and also they wanted to sell me a remote for the virtual Joey. I have a Spare Joey remote... does anybody knows if the info I am getting is correct? it sounds crazy to charge 7.99 for an app on your own PS3 and also to try sell you a remote.

Thanks

It's &7th per month, and it's for the accessibility on the tv. It's not for the app itself per se. No tv access device is less then $7/month that is officially dish supported.

The Model 40.x remote won't control a PS3 that only accepts bluetooth for remote control.

Be careful not to outsmart yourself. ;)

Which remote do they use for the virtual Joey anyways? I was under the impression it was a 40.0 but what you say, makes sense.

I thought it was a 40.0 and was really pairing with the Hopper, basically like a "TV2" remote did with VIP. I didn't think Dish charged for it either. Activate a VJ, and if you don't like it, cancel and you have a cheap extra remote for the Hopper.
