VIP722k L683 update. Anyone know what it fixes?

I'm looking at the Dish software chart and I noticed the VIP722k got the L683 update. Anyone from the DIRT team know what this fixes?

I just got the release notes from DISH a few moments ago... No idea what it means.

ViP722k L683 [MPEG4 SD pass thru closed-captioning fix, fix to allow new DISH IT CSA over IP SSL certificate]

So it sounds like it fixes a CC issue on MPEG-4 SD channels (good for Eastern Arc subs) and it adds in some new code over a security certificate? (I'm just guessing on the last part)
