Hey guys,

I am generally able to figure this kind of crap out on my own, but I'm stumped on this one.

We only have one TV, so TV1 and TV2 are simply used to watch and record (or dual record) on the same TV.

My roommate and I do a combination of recurring recordings with a low priority (e.g. recording every episode of South Park, max 20) and one time recordings with a higher priority (her WNBA game is recording right now).

My current situation, which I run into all the time, is that South Park and her WNBA game are both recording, which does not allow me to watch live TV. I understand that. The problem is, it is forcing me to watch the WNBA game, and threatens to cancel recording if I switch away, even if I want to switch to the other tuner to watch South Park (so I can cancel that recording and go back to Football!!!)

Why is it that when I want to switch from TV1 and TV2 while both are recording, it does not allow it? Problem would be solvable if I was able to cancel recordings in progress from the DVR menu, but alas, this is not possible either.

Any and all help is appreciated.

Cheers,

mike

If both tuners are recording, the only way to switch to the other tuner is to use the dvr button to access the recording or if you are in single user mode you can use the swap button to get to the other tuner (the second option does not work if you are in dual user mode). Using the guide or by inputting the channel number is trying to change the tuner you are on and does not switch you over to the other tuner.

Garys is right. Accessing it from the dvr menu will also let you start it from the beginning of the show.

AFAIK, if only connected to one TV, there is no advantage to having the 722k in dual mode. In single mode, you can do both options, either swap to the other tuner, or access My Recordings in the DVR menu and select the program that is recording that you want to watch, which gives you the option to start it from the beginning.

You can also pull up the guide and click on the other channel that is recording and it should switch to that channel.

In single mode, does the 722k have pip? If so, activate it and you can switch back and forth. As others have said. Once a recording is a few seconds into recording, you can start a playback.
