Vip622 DVR Error Message: 311 Ref#: 0521

I keep getting that message every time I turn on my 622. I cannot access the DVR because it says the data is unavailable. I've tried rebooting, unplugging, and removing the cable card but nothing works. Is my DVR dead? If it is, will a replacement 622 be able to play what ever shows I've saved to an external hard drive that was recorded using the other 622 before it broke?

You can try this as a last resort. It may buy you some time to off-load some more of your recordings to the external drive before the 622 is replaced.

1. Menu
2. 6
3. 3 (the Diagnostic screen should appear)
4. Info
5. Right button
6. Left button (screen filled with hexadecimal figures should
appear)
7. Play
8. Play
9. Recall (message saying that the hard drive will be
re-initialized)

I have no experience with this, and one could resonably assume this reformat will erase recordings, but at least one user's recordings were retained at least temporarily.
