Viewsat VS2000 Platinum programming

Hi, guys!
I'm about to buy Viewsat VS2000 Platinum programming from a local dealer.
The dealer asks extra $25 for preprogramming the device.
The quastion is: is it worth to pay for this or to try program it myself.
I feel no fear to take my chances and do it myself. But I just havn't done it before.
Hor hard is it to find proper bins, to configure the device. What's my risk here.
The Viewsat provides the firmware to download from their website. Is it going to be sufficient to get the device running?
