viewsat vs 2000 extreme

have no fta at this time
now have c band analog and able to receive nasa when analog befoe going digital
want to purchase the viewsat vs2000 extreme to receive nasa tv on amc 6 tran 17
i do not know by reading the specs if this is possible

anyone out here using the vs2000 extreme for this purpose?

i have no experience on fta need help!

I had an Extreme and was able to get it. You should be able to get it with any DVB rcvr.

You could use a viewsat platinum - it's cheaper than the extreme. Or, you could get one of those Traxis 3500 from PSB. Nice box, cheap too.

Any DVB receiver will work for the NASA digital mux on AMC-6

Be aware.... if you decided to use the Viewsat later for USALS/Diseqc 1.2 motor control, you will have nothing but problems with the receiver "forgetting" where the satellites are, etc.

The Traxis 3500 and Fortec Classics work really well

Traxis 3500 is a great receiver.

I would stay away from the Viewsat.

DSMI sells the Traxis 3500 and they have great service.

Stay away from the Viewsat. As stated in this thread I having nothing but problems with the positioner and also the componet video does not output correctly.

If it's a slave to a 4dtv or analog any will work, the Traxis can be had for a great price.

I have to agree with these guys about the viewsat, I have a Platinum and mine has been on about twice since i got the Coolsat 5000 back in May. I will say I've noticed during those times that it displayed a picture when the coolsat wouldn't using a low Q signal.
