Mitsubishi Kagaku Media, more universally known as Verbatim, has announced the addition of a BD-R line to their Singapore processing plant in the July/August timeframe. They currently output 200,000 discs per month at their Mizsushima factory, and with the addition of their new line, that output will increase to 700,000 per month.

Verbatim is also working with outside contractors in order to outsource additional production. Engineers have already been sent overseas in order to help transfer the technology so that production can start the second quarter of this year.

Hopefully this will cause the production price to go down, and that may lower the prices for BD movies..
