Value for my 3 yr-old Starchoice 505HD receiver?

Thinking of getting rid of one of my SC receivers (505HD, the other one is the problematic 530). Being located southside (north tx), trying to understand what would be the fair value for a clean, self-owned DSR 505 HD? Also, I am not sure if I can find any interest in local listings (Craigslist etc).

I'd guess $75-$99 for the used 505HD. You can get them in CA for $150 from BB and other retailers right now.

I think that's about right. You need to remember the 505 only has a couple of years of life expectancy as Shaw Direct is moving towards Mpeg4 with it's new recievers and Satellite for HD Channels.

bought mine refurbed for 29 bucks. the cables in the box retailed for more. haha. the 605 / 630's have been released so the 505 / 530's are not as desirable.

Indeed. With the 6xx series now released that will support Shaw's future direction of DVB-S2 and MPEG4, I foresee the value of the 5xx series will be dropping like a rock.
