Hello All,
I tried to set up my drake 1724 analog to pick up some NTSC stuff, but i was not able to get it to work. For one thing the signal meter from the drake reads 15, but on my satworks signal is 71% and quality is 90%. This is for Anik F2, cband.

I have bypassed my switch and am hooked up directly to the dish. So then i decide to try KU band ntsc, as there are some ntsc feeds on my fixed dish at g10. nadda, nothing but static. Was i just unlucky enough to not have anything transmitting when i was trying this out (yesterday afternoon)?

Thanks :)

probably...G10 only has 3 KU analog TP's and they are seldom used

if you can motor to AM9 (85) go there....There is usually a test card at 19 V

k, thanks iceberg, i thought that was what happened. Guess ill keep it hooked up and keep trying.......

The analog feeds on Anik F2 are part time.

Try Galaxy 10, transponder 24. The The Outdoor Channel is there in analog until the end of the year. It is also there in DVB format.

You might have to adjust your skew settings too.

thanks mkm4, unfortunately i dont have my actuator cabled up yet, so that dish is stuck on F2 for the winter. I was going to do a temp hookup yesterday, but by the time i had a chance to get outside the temp was around 0 degrees, brrrrrrrrrr. needless to say, i guess ill have to wait till spring to really be able to play with my BUD. Thanks for the replies all.

btw you folks would have been doubled over laughing watching me try to figure out how to enter in frequency and symbol rates in my analog reciever. It only took me about an hour to figure out i didnt need to enter those in...........

drhydro
dont worry...I tried the same thing. I knew hoew to enter the frequency but I was like "where the hell does the symbol rate go?" :D

It seems that the feeds are on during the week (M-F) from 8:45 am to 11:30 am on transponder 1, 8:45 am to 12:30 pm on transponder 3, and 8:30 am to 1:17 pm on transponder 7, check during those times if you can.

All times are for the Eastern timezone.

thanx mkm4, i will give them a try on friday, hopefully they decide to broadcast on christmas eve ;)
