Using a KVH TracVision dish

I have been trying to figure out if all I need is the TV/SAT switch to install a dish network receiver to the KVH TracVision L3 dish. What I read says so, but without the switch, the dish continues to search for a satellite. I guess I need to understand more about how this works.

Does anyone have any experience installing Dish Network with one of these?

I think we need to know more. Sounds like this is an RV hookup - they get real messy.

RV manufacturers have NO clue what's actually needed to git-r-done.

Can you point us to online info on the TracVision, please?

what model reciever are you trying to hook up to it? what type or dish lnb was it hooked up to previously? (legacy or DishPro)?
