My son ( living in NV) has a Direct TV receiver in the living room and bedroom. IF I buy him a used DVR can he use his old card in it? Or does he have to pay Direct $20 to marry it?

like boba said 99% of the time you will need to, just be nice when you call and that usually helps, also its not against the law to keep trying when you dont get an answer you like :)

:welcome to the forums let us know how everything turns out.

I thought if you was already subscribed to Directv you could use a card that you was using from another receiver. That is what Directv told me.

depends on who you get, as They wouldnt let me do this, I had to call 5 different times before someone would remarry my access card.

Thanks for the replies, I also am guessing he will pay $4.99 a month lease?
