i have heard that you can pick up dish usa in southern mexico with a standard size dish antenna. does anyone know if this is true?

yeah that`s not a problem i have the dishes.so i can subscribe in the states and just bring the ird down?

what you are describing is Dish's QuetzSat 1 satellite at 77W.

It's principle function is to deliver Dish Mexico Satellite TV service in Mexico.
Dish is maybe 24 inches in diameter. If you are in Mexico, it's the little red dish you will see on some buildings.

But, it also transmits a limited number of US local markets in HD and most of the other US channels in SD.
The US program guide is not transmitted and the default guide will only display the current and perhaps following hour of programming (the international DVB standard transmission).

so i will need 1.8 meter dish to pull in 77w hd channles ? can you let me know how i can contact one of these services that will sell me a limited subscription for a few months?
