FYI - If your locals went live today please be aware that the DishNetwork CSR's will not know about them until Thursday or Friday. Do not call them today as it will be a waste of time.

Minneapolis/St Paul locals on 61.5? I didnt know that was going to be happening..

is this just a mirror for the coming Eastern Arc? or are we getting transitioned over?

Was wondering the same thing?. Will I need a dish pointing at 61.5 now ? Currently have 110/119/129.

No, it's for Eastern Arc. You shouldn't have to change anything in the near future. Maybe in the distant future but nothing for now.

This goes along with my concern over the Dallas and other Texas locals being added to 61.5. Either they are going to mirror the larger DMAs on both 61.5 and 129 or everyone in the central and eastern zones are headed to the EA eventually. I'm in a smaller DMA so I don't see E* using bandwidth to mirror my #84 DMA when and if we ever get HD LiL. It does concern me a bit as I don't currently have line of site to the proposed EA birds and would not be looking forward to spending the time and money to get a line of site.

Thats good, because my wife would be really ticked if i needed to add another dish, it would probably be the end of me as a dish sub, she already hates looking at the thing on the roof on our garage. (we are in a townhouse so no way to "hide" it)

It wouldn't be an additional dish.

If a particular market's HD Locals were moved to 61.5, then your "Dish 1000" would be replaced with a "Dish 1000.4" that points to 61.5, 72 and 77.

Those latter two slots won't be operational until probably some time this fall, and at that time, they will mirror all the 110/119 channels.

I have never understood why people "Hate" looking at dishes, lol. I put mine up and forget about it.

Well our situation in a townhouse, the only place we could put the dish was on the front corner of our garage, so when you look at our unit, the dish is up front right in the middle. a 2nd dish would make it even more obtrusive.

in a house, you can put it in the back or off to the side so its not so annoying, but when you only have one side to your house.. thats not an option,

does this mean that nashville hd locals won't be CONUS anymore?

I'd say they will soon be working towards getting them off of the pricey CONUS beam on 129. It will take some time to transition this market to 61.5 but I would expect them to leave 129 at some point. Maybe 6 months? You never know.

And 129 will be going spot beam in 6 months as well.

Although if:

- You already subscribe to the SD Locals for that market

and

- You already have a 61.5 dish

then they should be automatically available for you right now (at most a check switch might be required).
