"from SD TV to MPEG2 SD" - SD always was MPEG-2, not clear what was change.

SD TV is a type 1 channel.
MPEG2 SD is an extension(154).
It is probably some kind of communication tool that engineering is using in this instance.

Where the 'names' cames from ?

SD TV is likely in the MPEG2 standard.

Since the other is an extension, the most likely name was chosen by others.

But the values are produced by Dish.

PS Maybe you guys have a better understanding now of what I mean when I say "We are not Dish Network."
