Mine got yanked today also. I had every subchannel in the guide for the last 2-3 weeks and now nothing. Scott, can you find out what the deal is?

All's that I heard was that the extended guide data was "Causing Issues"

If you ask others you will get told that this was never an official feature. While others will play dumb and act like they have no idea what your talking about.

They actualy have the Adult Interactive on ExpressVU but I have never used it as it needs a phone line hooked up and I dont want to do it and lose my service.

For me, getting PBS-HD guide info was a much much bigger deal than A&E HD. I sure hope it comes back. If there's any organized push I'd be glad to sign on.

Me too. PBSHD actually has some good programming but I never watch it because I don't know what's on there. I guess that's kind of lazy on my part. But they are capable of providing, they did provide it for a week or so, why not put it back up? I will call the tech chat on monday and try to find out what's going on.

The greedy @!#$%!#@ over at dish could just enable the guide data from the OTA signal and forget about whatever "issues" they couldn't solve with their guide data...I am sure they could just enable it for people that subscribe to locals.

There went my CW guide data. Oh well I had it for a month and now it is gone. As far as problems created I did notice when I recorded off of the sub channel for cw I got a 2 hour recording for a one hour show. It would get to the end of the show and I would have to fast forward for another hour at 300x to get to the end to delete it. Maybe this is why they removed the guide data as it wasn't right and was not compatiable with the recording time . I also get corrupted recording everytime I record off of that channel when I use a manual timer and there is no guide data.

If you just hit stop you can delete. You don't have to be at the end of the program to delete.

Yeap, I e-mail a CEO office rep every so often and I asked him about this, thinking he'd either know about it or know how to get information. He more or less gave me generic answers, tried to steer it towards PSIP and that the 622 doesn't read it, Dish can't control the data, etc, etc. I even pointed him to the page at ekb.dbstalk.com that listed the info !

Dish could pass the PSIP data in some form, but integrating it into the EPG is a bit more of a challenge. PSIP is no doubt not formatted the same as the OTA & sat data they use today. Adding the ability to click on PSIP data in the EPG to record a program would also require some programming.

It can be done, I believe. I just doubt they want to do that for a feature they will not make money on. I guess doing it as a customer courtesy and goodwill is not thought of favorably at Dish.

Could be my fault. Sorry. One of the first 14,000 uplinked was my Nebraska PBS.

They have a 6 station network and they uplinked guide data for all 4 sub channels.
None of the 6 stations uplinked for OTA guide data worked and this was seems like 3 Months ago when they first started the mass roll outs.

I emailed my Nebraska PBS and said I was not going to donate anymore unless they fixed the issue, they said they called Dish. Next thing I know, (a Month later) they are backing out, what seems like, everything for the 14,000 range.

I also Emailed Dish Tech and they opened a ticket for this.

I think they found that some of the uplinked channels in the 14,000 range are not working at all. So they are going to back them ALL out, and start over using a new method.

I bet it will take some time to roll back and the do it again with there new plan.

Bottom line is Yes it was working fine for some, but was not working at all for others. We all want our OTA Digital Guide data, sorry.
