they are trying to figure out which transponder is better in Atlanta (the answer of course is to use 61.5 but I doubt they will be that smart)

Well, at least they are trying. Thank goodness. I really really really wish they would use 61.5, but I think you're right it is a lost cause.

I'm just north of Atlanta and I agree that 61.5 would be the correct choice here. I got 622's and a Dish 1000 installed last Friday and have not been impressed with 129 yet. The Dish 1000 just screws up the good signals that I had from 110 & 119 on my Dish 500 and 129 is pitiful. The rain fade is really bad on all three sat locations on the 1000. I hope it is not just me experiencing these things. I have a good local installer that I let set up the dish this time around.

A question for the Atlanta guys...is the lip sync way off on your HD locals? Around a second difference last night watching Letterman at my house.

Well, with the new 1000.2 dish, maybe 129 can be tolerable. I think they wanted to put Atlanta HD on Dish1000 for inventory issues since only the Northeast region is currently using a wing dish for MPEG4 HD and HD locals.

I agree, the 129 signal strength problems cause "switch error" issues if it drops out too often, which is most of the time. They really need to put ATL HD LIL on 61.5

Guys and Gals, There has been some Breaking news this afternoon (in my life) as i may call it.. This news is leaving unable to report on the uplink activity untill some time tonight when i get back. I will give you all more in its due time. Right now there is no new activity, but if that changes im asking John H or any other "uplink guys" to report. I really did not want to be missing out on the uplink reports.... but unfortanatly this calls.. as well as it will in the future if I dont get it solved now ( IF i can get it solved) Thank you for your understanding.

Yes, but a whole lot of people in the ATL area already had 61.5 because there were some extra locals on it (until recently when the new sat went up at 110).

They moved ESPN2 HD to TP 22 on 61.5??

That's the weaker TP they put 2 of the new HD channels on last month. (Granted it wasn't as bad as TP 20)

But - it does look like they moved NFLHD and StarzHD off the lousy TP 20.

I'm now getting a reading of 93 off of TP 2 on 61.5 for these stations instead of the reading of 70 I get on TP 20.

TP 22 - which now houses HGHD, Nat Geo HD, and ESPN2 HD, i'm pulling a 75.

Hmmmmm..maybe they ARE reading these boards after all! Thanks DISH!
