I had been contemplating getting one of the upconverting dvd players on sale this holiday until i read that my sanyo tv converts all signals to 1080i. Standard dvds do look great on it so I guess my question would be if the tv is already doing it why would i need a new dvd player? BTW for HDdvd i think we may go with the addon for out xbox 360 since we already got it and the cheapest HD unit I have seen so far is around 300-500 bucks.
