I just got the 625, i have 2 dishes connected with a switch (each i think is a 300 dish), so i have only one cable going in into the first tuner jack.

the programing works fine and i have all my channels, however i have only one tv so i dont need the dual mode, but when i'm trying to press swap to watch PIP. i get a black screen where the reciever is trying to aquire a signal, but after a second where it says satellite there is just an X appearing and i need to go into point dish so it will start working again.

what do i need to do so it will work properly?

Have you tried rebooting the STB? If not try it, you can do that by pressing power key down for 10 seconds(not that many but keeping on safe side). Also make sure your switch matrix is fine for both tuner.

You need to have a connection to BOTH inputs. You'll need to update your DISH/SWITCH so you can get the TWO connections necessary.

:(

oh ok..... well what if i take the single cable that i have and connect a regular splitter to it and connect the cables to both jacks

What kind of switch do you have? You normally need two cable runs from switch to 2 tuner receiver. Also check which dishes you have, might be 500's.

i have no idea actually... it's on the roof, i guess i'll call my cable guy....

If you press the following buttons on your remote. Menu 6 1 3 ,line H will tell you what kind of switch you have.

call dish to do upgrade for you,

you can do it your self, you going to have to run one more cable to the box, or buy DPP Twin LNB ( and seperetor) then you wont need to run additional cables

if you have 2 dish 300 you have to make sure the curent LNB's are dual and you going to need to instal one more 21 switch

i was able to get one of those DISH PRO PLUS SEPARATOR

is that what i need?

yes on top of that you need a Dish Pro Plus Twin LNB to be able to use the separator that would be the cheapest way to go or you can get DPP 44sw

The DPP Twin goes on a Dish 500. If you have line of sight issues causing you to have 2 dishes for 119 and 110, this is not what you want.

The DPP Separator requires a DPP switch such as the DPP Twin, Dish 1000.2 or external DPP44 (which requires replacing your legacy LNBs with DishPro).

It's probably cheapest to get another SW21 and put in another run of RG6 to the second tuner just like the first.

If you have LOS, get a Dish 500 with the DPP Twin. May cost a bit more but will involve less labor.
