I just got off the phone with Brian Gohl at SatelliteAV while purchasing another item.

He gave me a great deal on a receiver and authorized me to post this un-advertised special on the Fortec Star FSIR-5400NA receiver..

They have 35 left and will sell them for $50.00 plus shipping to anyone who calls and mentions that they want the "Satellite Guys deal on the FSIR-5400NA".

A great blind-scanning receiver for $50.00! WOW!! :D

This is the same as the Fortec Star Classic NA but with an irdeto card reader, and they want to move them out.

So hit their website and give them a call and order one!

WOW that's an awesome deal! Makes me sad that my "toy money" account is in the negative right now :/

good bargain

I wonder what IRDETO subscription services there might be in North America (if any)?

Reading the specs and connector list, it seems quite a nice receiver:
- Input Voltage: AC 90 to 240 VAC (SMPS), 50Hz/60Hz
That makes it very attractive for anyone camping, running on generators, or going to Mexico.
- says it has SCART, RCA, and S-video output connectors, along with Toslink optical for AC3.

As Linuxman once said, it's good to have multiple brand/model receivers around so the remotes don't interfere with each other.

the person I spoke with wasn't aware with the deal so I left a message for the person who could authorize it.
Brian said he was going to have to scramble to get his sales staff up to speed on this deal. :)

If you have any problems have your sales person talk to Brian Gohl.

Reading the specs and connector list, it seems quite a nice receiver:
There is a nice review in the equipment review section on the Classic NA which Brian assures me is the same receiver.

Brian also added that it has support for diseqc 1.2 and USALS, and I just checked to verify that it is supported by Channel Master. :)

I just got off the phone with a SatelliteAV rep and picked up one receiver. Thanks again for holding one for me Brain. You guys are a definite A+ on customer service!

talk about a 1-day blow-out !

Brian -

Who besides SatGuy's knew about this?
Are you saying that just a post here moved 40 receivers in ... three hours?

Well, thanks for the great offer.

Wonder if maybe the buyers will post their comments in this thread, once they get them...?

A local dealer was in the office picking up an order and heard one of the reps on the phone and snapped up 25, but the rest were gone in a few hours, often several at a time.
