Two dishes to one hopper?

i moved to another house where the installer could not get a sight line to 129. He was able to only see 110 and 119. While this works, I miss my HD on some channels and PrimeTime. I am unable to trim or remove the offending trees due to HOA restrictions.

Is looks like I may be able to see 129 from another spot on the property. Can I install a single dish there for 129 and combine that with the other dish to feed my Hopper? The two dishes would be about 50-75' apart. any other issues I need to think about?

Shouldn't be an issue.

As long as it isn't a Hopper 3 you should be golden. I'm wondering, can that other spot also see 110 and 119? If so that would be the best of all worlds.

You will soon be able to do multiple dishes with a Hopper 3 setup. It's coming.

Nope. I can get a view of 129 through the trees but other trees block 110 and 119. The opening for 110 and 119 has some trees on a neighbors property that block 129.

Running regular Hopper, not the 3 so that's not an issue. Would like the 3 at some point but would also have to upgrade the antenna on my RV since I take the Hopper with us when traveling.

Running regular Hopper, not the 3 so that's not an issue. Would like the 3 at some point but would also have to upgrade the antenna on my RV since I take the Hopper with us when traveling.

You would need to run the 3 wires from the different orbital positions into a DPP44 switch. Then 2 wires from the switch to your solo node.

In the future when you upgrade to a Hopper 3 you will need to upgrade your switch to the not yet released DPH42.

I have 129 from a separate dish, just had to run cable to the new dish that was installed for H3. Before that, with 2 H2s, the cables from both dishes went to a 34 switch.

Does the LNB on the 110/119 dish have an input? Just run a cable from the 129 dish to the input and do a check switch on your receiver.

Don't know. I'm south for the winter and won't be back until next month. It's attached to a wood chimney structure so a little hard to get to. Using this site's installer search, there's an independent installer near me that I may talk to about doing the work. I don't like heights and working on a 2.5 story roof is troublesome.

There is a connection point for an extra dish. On mine I put a can over the 129 lnb.

Including the ones commonly used for Western Arc, right? (1000.2, 1000.4) I thought the lack of an input was mostly a problem on Eastern Arc LNBs.

EA 1000.4 LNB's have an input but 1000.2's don't. I haven't seen a 1000.4 WA LNB in a while but I think they also have an input. We don't see many 1000.4's at all anymore.

That is what I thought. I have the EA 1000.4, my sister has the WA 1000.2, and they both have inputs.
