Two 622 + HD issues

I just got a new ViP622 about a week ago and while I do love it, I am encountering two issues I can't seem to fix.

1) When watching HD locals (from Kansas City) sometimes the image will go all blocking and distorted. Sometimes this will last for up to 10 seconds and be all over the screen. It only seems to do it on my locals as I have never seen it on a Voom channel or TNTHD/FOODHD/ect.

2) 80% of the time that I turn my TV on it goes to 4:3 mode and squeezes the 16:9 my ViP622 is displaying into that. I have to hit the "Pic Size" button my TV to get it back into "Natural/Full" mode. I have my ViP622 hooked up via HDMI to a 32" Toshiba LCD.

Any advice on either of these issues would be great.

Not sure about the locals, but on the 4:3, are you sure that is not what is being broadcast at that moment. Just because it is an HD channel does not mean it will be in 16:9 ratio.

No, it shrinks the guide and everything. It is confusing the TV and putting it into 4:3 mode.

Are you receiving your HD locals via an OTA antenna or directly from Dish? (HD LiL)

I get my HD locals from Dish. I believe they come off 129. I have been out of town all this week, but my wife says it seems to be NBC that is the worst offender.

I get occassional pixelization and/or dropouts on the KC HD LIL's, but most of the time they are actually pretty good - good enough that I trust the 622 to record some of my favorite shows off of them. The Golden Globes on NBC last Monday were often unwatchable (in SD), for example. I didn't get a chance to compare the signal on OTA, as I was recording "24" on the OTA tuner.

I would check your signal strength on the LIL transponder (Menu-6-1-1) while on one of the HD-LIL's), and repeak your dish for 129 if it's under 70 or so.
