twinhan starbox signal and quality issues

I'm having a hard time finding satellites with a twinahan starbox 1 usb receiver.
I'm trying both the twinahan software and progdvb . Signal in these 2 programs always seems to stay at 32 quality 42 strength and never changes even when the dish is pointed at the ground. I was able to get amc3 the other day just by pure luck and even then the quality was only 35. If i could get these meters working more accurately it would be a breeze to find satellites . Any ideas?

Program signal meter only works after you have scaned the channel and have locked on. You must use a separate satellite signal meter (Handheld) to set up the dish.

I have the handheld to , but it only seems to pick up the dbs satellites.

My handheld satellite meter will not work with a universal linear LNB, but works fine with a standard linear.

I noticed the same thing with a universal LNBF .

I think my Lnb is a standard type , its one of the old rectangle shaped ones on a 30 cm star choice dish.
